We are Nanna and Timo Mäkelä, a married couple, currently residing in a small town ‘Nastola’ in the southern Finland. We were married in 1993 and we have no kids. We live in house surrounded with a fenced yard just for the dogs. Our dogs live with us in the house and are true members of the family. And yes, they are allowed in the bed! ;-)

We got our first dog, Flat Coated Retriever "Memmu" in 1992 and the next year an Afghan Hound "Pessi". With Pessi we attended a few dog shows with no mentionable success. Our first Italian Greyhounds "Dakota" we got in 2000 and 2002 "Mårten" came along. Our first bitches "Zoë" and Mårten's half-sister "Märtha" we got in 2004. The latest addition to the family is gorgeous little bitch Py's Dorina, "Rina".

In canine family members we value excellent, open character, good self esteem, healthy structure and sound movements and of course good overall health. A pleasing appearance according to the breed standard is a BIG plus.

Nanna

I am 34-year-old BBA and I work at a local university of applied sciences in the marketing and communications department. I am a true sighthound enthusiast and find all the sighthound breeds pleasing to my eye. I love the atmosphere and excitement of dog shows and I have become rather hooked on shows!
I have taken the Finnish Kennel Club's courses "Breeder's Course" 1 and 2. I am planning the kennel's first litter for winter 2007 -2008.

When ever I have time to spare, I waste it with quilting, counted cross stitching, sewing, knitting, interior design, a bit of gardening etc.

Timo

I am a 44-year-old engineer. In my spare time I play the 2nd trumpet in Lahti Big Band. I am also an off road driving enthusiast and an active member in several clubs and committees.
